Your favorite styles of the season can go way beyond the OOO. Use them to inspire major makeup moments.
We can always turn to fashion week to put us on the style map, but we love when the season’s hottest trends inspire a fresh take on a smoky eye or an updated shade of lip color. After flipping through fashion mags, scouring runway trends and scanning our insta feeds, we found 3 fab new makeup ideas. Best part, they’re beyond easy to achieve.
Embellished heels.
Buh-bye, boring and basic. Spring sandals are all about the wow factor. Think ornate adornments and colorful add-ons like Valentino’s Beaded Leather Sandal with Floral-Lucite Heel. Influenced by their vibrant nature (and “aspirational” price tag), we channeled the look using bright lip crayons, warm eyeshadows and colorful liners. The result? Flirty coral lips, sexy purple cat eyes and glimmering golden lids. Valentino approved.
Ombre dresses.
Flowy, whimsical maxis entered this season as one of the most wearable trends. Chloe’s Halter-Neck Ombre Gown and its brilliant blend of colors became our inspo. Luckily, blending multiple colorways doesn’t have to end with your outfit. Its makeup equivalent — bold ombre eyes — can be easily reinvented using three shades of your favorite blues, mauves or browns blending from lash line to brows with a fluffy brush.
Black and white bling.
It’s no secret that we love jewels at Honest Beauty HQ. This season diamonds are paired with black gemstones creating elegantly edgy pieces. Tiffany’s fearless Black Spinel Ring inspired us to rock a more intense liner look accented with shimmer. To recreate, draw a thick black line starting at the inner corner of your eye making your way around the upper and lower lash lines to where you started. Dab glittery eyeshadow over the black pigment with your finger. Using a clean brush, sweep on more shimmer just outside the black liner and blend. Last step, figure out how to get the ring.
