We love to get crafty at Honest Beauty HQ. Our newest discovery? Mixing and matching products and colors to land spring’s most enviable (if not intimidating!) runway trend, lavender lips.
Spice up your daily beauty routine with a lilac pout, one of the runway’s most surprisingly wearable looks. They’re subtle enough for work and beyond adorable for date night. Rather than splurging on a new shade, we’ve got a few tricks to get the look with makeup you already own.
Neutralize. Apply any product close to your skin tone onto your lips to create a neutral base. Think concealers, foundation or a nude eye pencil to both line and fill.
Accentuate. Line your pout using a purple or blue eyeliner to create dimension and a base for your next layer of color. Blue adds a pastel lavender hue, while purple creates a subtle, grayish cast. Sounds crazy, but combining these shades with pinks and reds will end with amazing results, promise!
Blend. Layer on a vibrant pink lipstick or crayon using a lip brush. Avoid direct application to not turn your lipstick purple-blue. Work in the pop of pink until a lavender shade is created.
