When it comes to mastering the perfect nude lip, it’s all about the base.
With spring in full swing and summer on the horizon, hotter temps and longer days call a softer look in our daily routine. Think fresh-faced beauty featuring reinvented nude lips in whisper-light pastels, metallic mattes and barely there pinks.
Ironically, going nude is anything but natural — it’s more the illusion of less effort but with maximum impact.
The trick to getting barely there color to pop on virtually any skin tone is to start with a layer of concealer or foundation to create a light canvas for lighter-hued glosses and crayons. Why? Because nude isn’t the same nude on every skin tone. The good news, even the darkest and lightest complexions can pull off a gorgeous hint of color.
Step 1: Apply a concealer or foundation in an ivory shade as your base.
Step 2: Layer on gloss, lip crayon or lipstick in a shade you love.
Voila.
